  • Service (5/5): In general everything went very smoothly. The only problem we had was there was no taxi to meet us a Souillac station when we arrived from Paris. The train was around 25 minutes late and the driver had apparently been and gone during that time. Had he got out of his car it would have taken him less than a minute to discover that the train was delayed. We of course had no idea when the train was going arrive in Souillac even though we knew it was running late, so there wasn't much point calling Christine from the train. A call to her after we arrived when it was obvious there was no-one there to meet us meant that we were only delayed 15 more minutes in the end, but it's not what you need after a long journey.

Belle France: Many thanks for the positive feedback on your Dordogne walking holiday I am sorry there was a problem with the taxi at the start of your holiday but very pleased to learn that Christine sorted the problem out quickly.

It is a delightful region and it is good to hear there is no litter it makes a walk in the countryside so much more pleasant. I can understand that this moderate walk was made more challenging by the unexpected heat ... I imagine it was very pleasant to reach your hotel and have a cool drink in the shade.

I do hope you will decide to holiday with Belle France in the future ... we are busy planning next year’s brochure and hope you will find something of interest.

Product (5/5): The description of the "Tranquil Dordogne" route as "moderate" is no doubt true in most weather conditions. However, we had four days of 30C+ weather which made a couple of the longer walks very hard work for a couple of slightly unfit 50-somethings! I think anybody of our age and walking experience would have found the same thing. Anyway, we made it (just) and had a great holiday. By the way - we walked around 70 miles in total and never saw one bit of litter. Not one. What a great country France is!
  • Service (5/5): Belle France kindly helped us with very detailed travel and accommodation arrangements prior to and following our walking holiday. All arrangements worked out very smoothly and we are particularly thankful to Catherine Bellanger, who made most of the arrangements.

Product (5/5): We very much enjoyed the route chosen for the walk, which was very scenic and varied. We also enjoyed the hotels and the food; the towns where we stayed were picturesque and we had fun exploring them. Our one concern was that the walking directions for travel from one village to the next were sometimes vague and on a couple of occasions incorrect. More frequent landmarks or reference points for travellers to look for would have been helpful. The directions provided on the Secrets of Luberon walk which we took two years ago were more specific with more frequent reference points provided.
  • Service (4/5): There was a mix up over train departure stations in Paris otherwise good.
