Le Cep Beaune

Le Cep

Situated right at the heart of the historic centre of Beaune, the beautiful 4-star Le Cep Hotel combines 16th century charm with 21st century comfort and facilities. The Hotel Le Cep was created from the union of homes built between the 14th and the 18th centuries. A tower housing one of the city’s most beautiful stone staircases rises from a lovely internal courtyard. From the tower, there is an exceptional panoramic view of the city. The courtyard also features an ancient Artesian Well and Renaissance stone medallions sculpted into the rock.

The Bernard family took over the establishment in 1986 and they have subsequently transformed, enlarged and adapted the hotel by incorporating several private mansions whilst preserving its exceptional heritage. It is reputed that King Louis 14th once stayed there. The corridors and lounges are lavishly furnished with beautiful antiques, the Reading room has an open log fire, and Salon Louisane has a piano.

The hotel has 61 air-conditioned rooms, including 21 suites, which are all individually decorated with antiques in traditional French style and are named after famous Burgundy Grand Cru wines.

Cuisine

The Hotel Le Cep houses one of Beaune’s finest restaurants, L'Oiseau des Vignes, where you will be served the finest French gastronomic cuisine. The imaginative cuisine is matched by great Burgundy wine. In the summer, breakfast, lunch and candlelit dinners can be enjoyed in one of the interior courtyards, surrounded by flowers and statues. For the rest of the year, breakfast, both continental and English, is taken in the beautiful vaulted breakfast room which is a former wine cellar.
