Best Western Hotel Beau Site Notre Dame
In the heart of the ancient city of Rocamadour, this delightful hotel has been run by the same family for two centuries and offers a warm, friendly welcome with wonderful views. Great care is taken to select the finest ingredients for the authentic regional dishes. The charming dining room overlooks the beautiful Alzou valley, or choose to eat on the garden terrace shaded by lime trees.
In the restaurant 'Le Jehan de Valon', the Chef Xavier Menot works closely with the finest local producers to use produce of the highest quality.
Examples of typical produce of the Dordogne: the honey-coloured foie gras melts in the mouth, the truffles glow like black diamonds,
the duck and goose confit is done “to a turn” under a crisp outer layer, the lamb from the Causse is delicate and mouth-watering, Rocamadour cheese brings the pastures to the table, saffron with its brilliant yellow lights up any dish. Local melons, strawberries, asparagus, mushrooms (especially morels, chanterelles and ceps), chestnuts, figs and so on could be added to the list.
Walnuts bring a discreet touch of sweetness to a dessert. All these wonders are accompanied by crusty country loaves and washed down with sun-soaked Cahors wine.
