Chateau Julie can be found close to St Andre de Cubzac, birthplace of Jacques Cousteau. This great house was formerly the home of wine merchants, and also welcomed pilgrims en route to Santiago de Compostela. Rooms here are comfortable and spacious and all are en suite. There is a large lounge with an attractive balcony.
Meals are served on the basis of 'table d'hote' and cuisine is typical of the French south-west. Each meal is 3 course, and includes coffee. Confit de canard and cuisine using local truffles are both popular. Wine is generally from the estate but a good selection of other wines is also available.
