Aboard the only hotel barge sailing through the Loire Valley, you'll be treated to a unique view of the valley's numerous châteaux, many with expansive river frontages and the odd one even crossing the river above the barge, such as the elegant Château de Conceau. The River Cher has carried cargo and passengers for over 2000 years making the Valley of the Kings a timeless region exuding grace and boasting spectacular scenery.
This cruise is fully inclusive of six nights accommodation, gourmet meals, fine wines and open bar, daily excursions, local transfers and full use of all onboard amenities.

Itinerary & Hotels
Moulin de Nitray day 1
You will be met at the designated meeting point near Tours and transferred to the barge hotel, Nymphea, moored opposite the 17th century Moulin de Nitray. Meet the crew with a Champagne welcome aboard and settle in to your air-conditioned cabin. Dinner on board
Hôtel Barge - Nymphea Moulin de Nitray
The Dutch steel shallow-draft Hotel Barge, Nymphea, is the ideal design for sailing the sometimes sandy depths of the River Cher in the Loire Vallery. Taking just six passengers in three cabins, your stay aboard the Nymphea will feel wonderfully personal and very comfortable.
The interior is traditionally warm and classic, with rich varnished woods and stained glass. Each cabin has an en suite bathroom and is air-conditioned. There is an upper sun deck for relaxing and watching the world go by, and if you are feeling a little more energetic, there are six bicycles for guests to use along the towpath.

Moulin de Nitray to Larcay day 2
We take a morning cruise along the River Cher this morning, slowly working our way to the quaint town of Larcay to take our lunch under the weeping willows on the river bank. Enjoy an afternoon excursion to the Château de Villandry to see its world-renowned Renaissance gardens. Dinner on board.
Larcay to Vallet day 3
During our morning cruise to the hamlet of Vallet, we pass no less than six privately owned châteaux. We tie up opposite the village with an 18th century mill at its heart, surrounded by classic Tourangeau architecture. From here we take a trip to Amboise on the banks of the Loire where we take the opportunity to visit the Royal Château d’Amboise and Château du Clos Lucé, the former home of Leonardo Da Vinci. Dinner on board
Vallet to Chissay-en-Touraine day 4
Our morning cruise may allow for the opportunity to stop at Domaine de Fontenay landing stage. A two minute walk takes us to their courtyard where we can take an apéritif of their fine Touraine wines before lunch. During our afternoon cruise we will pass under the impressive five arch bridge of Château de Chenonceau and then moor at Chisseaux where we will take the air-conditioned minibus to visit this magnificent château. Back on the water again and we cruise upstream to Chissay-en-Touraine where we will moor for the night and sample one of the local restaurants specialising in the local Loire cuisine.
Chissay-en-Touraine to Montrichard day 5
This morning we cruise to the Troglodyte village, Bourré, mooring next to one of the more unusual dwellings, La Magnaneraie. This current family home of the Coquillants has been in turn, a wine cellar, a quarry for the tuffeau stone, and lastly, a silkworm nursery. Our afternoon excursion takes us to Château Valencay, one of the most stunning châteaux in the region. On our return, we cruise to Montrichard to moor for the night. Dinner on board.
Montrichard to Moulin de Nitray day 6
After breakfast, we take a short walk into the heart of Montrichard to take in the sights and sounds of one of the largest street markets in Touraine. We also have the chance to tour the 11th century château overlooking the town square before sampling the produce at the local vineyard of the Meriau family. After lunch, we pass once again under the graceful arches of Chenonceau and carry on to Nitray with time to visit the château and rose gardens. You’ll have the chance for your second wine tasting of the day at the château before the Captain’s Farewell Dinner on board.
Moulin de Nitray day 7
After breakfast, guests will disembark and be transferred to the designated drop off point near Tours.
