Walk through beautiful undulating countryside and past pretty medieval villages as you follow the clear waters of the little River Dronne from Bourdeilles to Champagnac. Day trip to Bourdeilles day 2
Walk down to the pretty medieval village of Bourdeilles on the banks of the Dronne with it’s commanding castle built for Catherine de Medicis. After lunch, return along the riverside under impressive overhanging rocks, before climbing gently back to the hotel.
Biras to Brantômeday 3
A cross-country walk with lovely views, through forests and open farmland, to the bustling little town of Brantôme, set on an island in the River Dronne. Your town-centre hotel overlooks one of the main bridges and has a large terrace by the river. The fine restaurant is highly regarded by the locals.

Half day loop walkday 4
Take a pleasant half day walk and then spend time in the fascinating town, visit the abbey and the troglodyte caves or simply wander in the narrow streets with their galleries, shops and bars. Perhaps take a boat ride around the town or hire a canoe for a longer trip down the river. There is much to do before settling down on the terrace for your gourmet evening meal!
Friday morning is market day when the streets are taken over by colourful food and clothing stalls.
Brantôme to Champagnacday 5
Follow the river out of Brantôme before heading across country to the village of Champagnac de Belair for your final two nights at the charming 4* Moulin du Roc, a luxuriously converted water mill with a Michelin starred restaurant and heated pool.

A circular walk on forested paths taking in ancient abbey ruins and the impressive Château de Puygilhem, well worth an interior visit, before returning along a river valley to the Moulin du Roc for your final gourmet meal of the week.
