Loire and oysters

Just back from setting up the bike workshop at Chenonceaux for the new season. This is the only region where we keep our very own fleet of bikes with sizes available from weenies in a chariot, youngsters on the tag-along, kids on mountain bikes and adult bikes for the short and the tall. Our local rep and bike mechanic is always close at hand should you need any assistance during your tour and for both cyclists and walkers the Loire Valley offers a great introduction to France, the terraine is not too demanding, there are plenty of historic châteaux you can visit along the way and we have found some truly fantastic restaurants to experience great French food.

Whilst in France I slipped down to the coast in Poitou Charentes to look into our Oysters and Pearls weekend break. With three nights stay at a superb three star hotel in the historic naval town of Rochefort we offer two fascinating days discovering the secrets of oyster cultivation and lots more besides. For anyone taking a driving holiday who enjoys seafood specialities this weekend break is a must to add on to your main holiday whether it be with us or not.
